Mark your calendars: “Le Diner des Chefs” at Versailles on September 17

Versailles Grand Trianon
The venue is Le Grand Trianon, the more intimate and (relatively) modest palace built within the grounds of Versailles by Louis XIV, who wanted to enjoy some privacy away from the Court. The place should not be confused with Le Petit Trianon, built by Louis XV for Madame de Pompadour and later presented to Marie-Antoinette as her private estate.Versailles Grand Trianon

Versailles Trianon Temple of LoveTickets go for 22,000 Euros, or $32,000, per person. They include the dinner itself, by the most acclaimed chefs in France and the United States, a musical entertainment (in the outdoors Pavillon Français, weather permitting), a private tour of Le Petit Trianon, luxury accommodations in Paris and limo rides. Proceeds will go to Alzheimer’s research.

Sadly, budgetary concerns will keep me from attending, but this did not prevent me from visiting the lavish event website, complete with fireworks. Enjoy!
