i passed a patassarie here in ohio,u.s.a. last winter after a large snowfall.outside were 12 bistro tables with 10" of crisp white snow layered on each one.each snow covered table looked like a cake stand w/a cake covered in white fondant!how appropos for it's location.i took a photo on my cellphone, but cannot transfer it to paper or on line.it inspired me to write a book , french themed of course.there must be many of these locations in france during winter!

Thanks, Catherine! This is the Square des Batignolles, in my own 17eme arrondissement. I sympathize with you about the homesickness...
Oh, comme Paris me manque ! And, covered in snow, what a rare and exquisite sight. I am like Tristan, though : I have seen this place before
which park is it ? Luxembourg, Montsouris, Monceau, Bois de Boulogne ?
Thank you for the happy memories. Catherine

I know this park, though I'm not sure I know this exact spot. What a lovely picture in the snow! I've never been to Paris in the winter ... we always plan on Spring and Autumn (it fits our schedules), but someday, I want to see it in the snow!

Penny, in fact the Batignolles district is late 19th century too, no any older than many parts of NYC. And it's still snowing today...

Elisa - Indeed!
I see why you like Paris in winter. NYC has not had any snow but when it does, It also looks quite pretty especially this time of year when the holiday lightening is up. I think it goes up just before Thanksgiving. I noticed the rooftops. On Manhattan's upper East side, there are plenty of buildings with the same architecture. Yet this part of the city is probably post WW2 -the baby boom years. the older parts don't seem to have much left over from the Dutch or the colonial era. Just the street and borough names.
