Independence Day

I am fortunate enough to share a birthday with my adopted country, which makes the Fourth of July a very personal holiday for me. All those fireworks! I am honored.

So today’s post will be limited to a copy of the Declaration of Independence and this link to many interesting sites and books dedicated to its drafters, in particular Jefferson.

For Franklin, I refer you to a prior post on this blog.

Now I am off to celebrate and wish you all a very happy Fourth!

    Thank you, dear friends!
Sheramy – I had lobster, not sweets (my choice.) It was great.
Sibylle – When my son was little, he did believe the fireworks were on my account, and was deeply impressed.
Julianne – I don’t believe one is never too old for a birthday celebration. I simply skip the cake (too many candles.) But frankly I don’t mind my advancing years. Sure, they bring new infirmities, troubles and limitations, but also a deepening appreciation of the beauty of life. I have reached the age where I treasure the blessings left to me.

  4. Bonne anniversaire, Catherine! I hope you’re able to do something very special today. Mine’s in a little more than a month, but I don’t do birthdays anymore. :)

  5. Sibylle says:

That’s so nice ! Happy Birthday, Catherine :) What a way to celebrate it indeed ! Somehow, it’s almost as if all the fireworks were here just for you :)

  6. Sheramy says:

    Happy Birthday, Catherine! Eat sweets!

  7. Catherine Delors says:

Thank you, Eva! I am in France right now, so I will have to wait until Bastille Day for my fireworks. I will still appreciate the ones in the US from an ocean’s distance.

Happy birthday Catherine! And how much fun to have fireworks on your birthday. :D Mine’s been on Easter twice, but they don’t do fireworks for that, lol.
