Richard, Tristan, I am sorry to be a wet blanket, but 200 year old wine might not be very good - except as a collector's item, of course. In fact, if I were to swipe anything there, it might be that beautiful carafe with Josephine's monogram on it. Now they will never let me in...

I wish I lived closer to NY because I would definitely love to see the exhibit! I think Jane Austen would be highly amused at the level of fame she is enjoying currently and the way in which her fans are showing their appreciation for her work. From what remains of her letters and the glimpses of her we get through her writing leads me to believe she had a quirky sense of humor that would allow her to enjoy it immensely. Well, that is what I like to think!
