Goya in Times of War: at the Prado in Madrid
This time it is not a failed movie adaptation, but an exhibition of 200 works at the Prado. From portraits of children, like Goya's grandson Mariano, to nightmarish visions and the all too real horrors of war, an exploration of the artist's astonishing range.This exhibition was organized for the bicentennial of the Spanish War of Independence.
Unfortunately I won't be able to see it, and will be content to watch this slide show with you. If you are lucky enough to be in Madrid, hurry: it will be closing on July 13.

My daughters both have an American Girl Doll. They are very popular in the US.
I have a blonde and a raven haired daughter, their dolls looked just like them, even down to the glasses my younger one wore.
Do they have anything similar in France?

I know of those, Richard. So far France has been spared by the American Girl Doll phenomenon. Maybe if it were called the French Girl Doll... Whatever the reason, we are still safely in Barbieland on this side of the pond.
